Welcome to the Class of 1963 web site.
In the fall of 1959 we entered the 9th grade at NCHS, we came from 6 different elementary schools from various locations in the county to become one class, known as “The Class of ’63”. For the next 4 years we had members join us and leave us, but if you were ever a part of the class of ‘63 you are STILL a part of the class of ’63.
After 40 years, old friends and acquaintances met at the Legion Hall for our “BEST EVER” class reunion. A new bond was created and from that time until now, we have met once a month for breakfast and once a month for dinner. At our dinners we average 35 to 40 people, which is a pretty good turnout. We have gone on 4 cruises, 2 to the Caribbean, one to Alaska, and one to Europe. We have seen old acquaintances become very close friends.
Located in Covington Georgia, Newton High School was first accredited in 1954. NCHS was located on “Speedway” later named Newton Dr. and has been at its current location, 140 Ram Dr since 1974. We remember our principal, Mr. Sharp, Coach Bradley, Coach Cooper, Coach Mac and teaches Mrs. Patterson, Mrs, Brooks, Miss Gray, Mrs Jay, Mr Croom, Mrs Burke, Mr Burke, Mr Hartley and many others
